Tara Abbey News

Writer's picture: NBF CanadaNBF Canada

It was moving day, at Thrangu Tara Abbey, for the 70 nuns studying in Thrangu Thoisam Dargyeling Shedra. Now that the new dormitory, kitchen, and enclosed dining hall are ready for use at the Thrangu monastery in Lumbini, the nuns recently packed up their gear and traveled by bus to Lumbini, joining the nuns already studying at Lumbini University. Including staff, the community of nuns will be more than 80 and the new session began the first week of October. Khenpo Chogyal saw them off with a kata blessing and will join them soon in Lumbini for offering prayers and a fire puja.
