Writer: NBF CanadaNBF Canada

Lama Wangchuk Topden, a nephew of Thrangu Rinpoche, was recently given the title of Chöje Lama by the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa. Lama Wangchuk has been serving as a manager in the monastery and in being recognized for his service he is also being charged with the task of managerial responsibility carrying the monastic community into the future.

Thrangu Rinpoche read a statement from the Karmapa and Khenpo Chonyi presided. Several lamas spoke in regard to the distinction and Khenpo Lhaibu said that it is not only and honour for Lama Wangchuk, but for the monastery as well since it is vary rare for this title to be bestowed. He also pledged his support and bid others to do the same.

Congratulations to Lama Wangchuk!
